Raymond and I flew in a restored B17, the Liberty Belle.
The Liberty Belle flying back to Jeffco Airport past our house in Boulder.
At Jeffco Airport. Coming in to pick up another group of passengers.
Another view. What a beautiful airplane.
Note the opening in the fuselage behind the top turret. I'm not sure what this opening was for but we were able to stick our heads out when it was flying.
Another view.
Pretty cool.
Another view.
You can really see the opening in the fuselage now.
Very beautiful airplane.
This is in the main part of the fuselage and one of the two waist guns. One on either side.
One of the waist guns.
This is the top of the belly turret. We were not allowed in it or the tail gun position but other then that we were allowed, in fact encouraged to explore the…
The bomb bay. I sure hope these things aren't live! :)
My friend Raymond who joined me on this little adventure. You think he is having fun?
The bomb site in the very front of the plane. It was strange sitting way up front in this little glass room. The bomb site worked.
One of the two machine guns on either side of the bombardier.
I really liked this view of the engines.
The cockpit. There were a couple of gauges that I do not think were standard equipment. :)
View out the left.
Our house. Bombs away.......
