Boundary Waters Canoe trip
Actually we were on the Canadian side in Quetico Park. We paddled a good days paddle in and found a great campsite. So we set up camp and did not move the rest of the time. We took small day trips out to explore. There was considerable damage from the July 4th storm that you may have heard or read about. 90-mph winds blew down lots of trees. In fact we had several big trees down in our campsite. Let's see, other items of interest. We saw the northern lights thanks to Barb's 2:00 am potty break. Fantastic! We saw a beaver up real close as it swam by our campsite and several bald eagles. No moose and not for lack of trying. And no bears, thank goodness. We had a great time.
Our camp site.
This picture sort of says it all!
It is so quiet you can hear a birds wings beat.
This loon popped up about 10 feet from our canoe.
Barb and Sarah.
Blue berry picking on a little island. We picked over
a quart in about 15 minutes. Pick 1 eat 2, pick 1 eat 2.
Dad getting "artsy" with the camera.
A good view of our campsite.
No slackers, everyone works!
That pack is bigger then Sarah.
Hannah paddling in the bow!
Hanging out at the campsite.
Pretty scruffy looking guy, wouldn't you say?
Ah.... This is the life.
